I've got an awesome story that I would love to share.My name's Devon “D-Sticks” Austrie, a touring drummer, bandleader, and entrepreneur. My rhythmic versatility is deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of genres such as jazz, soul, funk, gospel, and Afro-Caribbean music.Music is my ultimate way to connect with others. It breaks down barriers and provides people the space to process their emotions individually and collectively. Whether it is through vocal aptitude, instrumental genius, influential culture, or analyzing history, music fills our world with endless wonder and inspiration in everyone. Who I Am
I was born in New York City into a deeply musical family and raised in Boston, MA, their plethora of talent inspired me to step into the world of music for myself. My mother's range with her vocals, my father's dexterity with the bass, my brother being the main reason why I am a drummer today, all my uncles expressing themselves through playing guitar and singing. I had all the inspiration I needed to step into the world of music. Over the years, I've cultivated my own dynamic style that blends technical precision with emotional intuition.Music is one of the most powerful forms of storytelling that we have, transforming the human experience into something tangible. My work reflects the many people and moments that have impacted me along my journey. Whether on stage, in the studio, or behind the scenes, I approach every project with gratitude, excellence, committed to fostering connection and celebrating the healing magic of music.

Well...
Once earning my degree in Economics from UMass Boston in 2016, I embarked on a thrilling journey blending my creative and analytical strengths in building a sustainable path forward as a musician and entrepreneur. My unique fusion of artistry and professionalism has made me a highly sought-after collaborator across the Greater Boston area, drawing in musicians, vocalists, creatives, arts organizations, businesses, and industries across the country and from around the globe.From 2020-2025, I toured across the U.S. and Europe with one of Boston's premier hardcore rock bands, Move BHC. We released three powerful projects throughout my time as their drummer. I have also gone to have amazing experiences performing at BAMSFest’s signature Summer Festival, Gallagher Square located in San Diego Padre's Petco Park, and illustrious universities such as Harvard University, Brown University, my alma mater UMass Boston, Emerson College, & Boston University.In 2022, I founded my own band, The Modular Troupe, where I curate powerful performances and educational experiences that bring together musicians, venues, and communities seeking genuine connection. The band's first performance was for NSBE Boston's 4th Annual STEM Awards Gala. Looking to continue expanding my creative reach, I co-founded Authenticity BOS, a innovative live entertainment event with Boston's very own DJ Alcide, dedicated to curating unforgettable art and music experiences across New England.These milestones are just a small glimpse of my exciting journey.
